PHH Mortgage Corporation, a subsidiary of PHH Corporation, originates, processes, and services residential mortgage loans while offering a range of other services including correspondent lending, private label solutions, loan subservicing, and relocation services.

Headquartered in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, the company maintains offices at several locations including Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Boston and Orlando.

Recently, PHH is reported to have lost a subservicing contract with HSBC, forcing it to lay off several employees and stop doing business at its Amherst office. As a result, it expects to consolidate all of its mortgage origination work in Jacksonville.

Many big and small banks and credit unions outsource loan processing and servicing to PHH, making it one of the largest servicers of home loans in the country.

Moreover, it is common for a lender or a loan originator to sell loans to a mortgage servicer. If PHH happens to own your loan, then you need to send payments to this company instead of the lender that originated your loan.

You must have correct login details to enter, which is a website to access PHH Mortgage service center online. You need to sign up before you can log in to your account and view details on payment history, escrow, interest and taxes, and PMI.

You can also set up auto pay to allow the service center to deduct the amount of your monthly payment automatically from a checking or savings account.

If you want to pay off early or make extra payments, you need to contact the mortgage servicing department for a payoff quote. You can ask anything about your existing mortgage, including mortgage payoff, by calling the phone number 800-449-8767.

    Phh is an absolute nightmare to deal with.. Before taking out a mortgage with them, do yourself a favor and do a simple search “Problems with PHH Mortgage”.. Take warning from all the customers who have had to deal with them (including me).. Not only can you not get problems taken care of with this company (problems they create), but you can’t reach an American representative to talk to.. Their reps are all based in other countries and have limited abilities to fix their own errors…. They will put in a “request” to fix the error, but good luck with that.. There is no one you can call to get problems resolved.. They truly are a nightmare to deal with.. And the really bad thing is, your mortgage can be sold to them and you have no control over that!!!!!

    • Wow I can’t believe all the negative things I am reading here about PHH Mortgage. they have been my mortgage company for the past 16 years and I have not once had a single problem with them. Always able to get someone on the phone who is knowledgeable and helpful. I wonder if we are talking about the same company?

    I wondered how a business entity could garner an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau but after countless phone calls and emails, it is now abundantly clear that should you have a chance to choose between PHH Mortgage Corporation and any other loan servicer chose the latter of the two.

    My escrow account was in the negative by $4500, I had 10 mortgage payments held in a suspense account and after wrangling with countless customer service representatives all the payments were posted on July 13, 2016. No one could explain what the triggering event was that caused the payments to be posted to a suspense account or how to avoid a repeat of this mishap. Don’t walk away from PHH Mortgage, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Boy, no kidding. I have had a mortgage that is now with PHH Mortgage corp. I received a Certificate of Discharge and my name is so totally screwed up I’m sure it wont even be recognized. (former last name misspelled, first name totally deleted so my first name now occurs as my new married name, my last name and middle initial are wrong) and they show me as an “Unmarried woman.” They must have had the marriage info in order to use the new last name. They didn’t even use letterhead on the cover letter – who does that?

    I called today on my day off since their hours are my working hours and was on hold for 40 minutes before I gave up. If “Matthew Lachiusa” sees this review, maybe he will take more care when preparing these to get the names right.

  5. I’m with all the above. I have sent extra escrow every month to avoid a shortage only to be told I have a $500 shortage. I reviewed my payment history and saw that there were 30 reversals done to my account a couple of weeks ago and then 30 redeposits. I called several times only to be told by their “customer service” that I don’t understand what is happening and to review my escrow summary because my taxes went up (they went up$100 per year). She did not listen to my question and keep repeating I that I don’t understand. I asked for a supervisor and got someone with even less command of the English language. She (Ms. Delacruz) continued to ignore my question and again told me that I do not understand. When I asked to elevate it even further, I was told someone will call me in 24 hours. Yeah, right. Now to get my escrow closed and pay my own taxes will take them 10-14 working days to get me a written form.
